HEADLINE MENTORS & PERFORMING ARTS

 

Programs Offered

 

At-Risk Youth Mentoring & Life Skills Program
Acting For A Greater Cause

 

Our mentoring services for grades 5th-12th.  Referrals are required for this program.  There are no Monthly fees for becoming a member of this program.  Youth will receive a dedicated assigned mentor to talk with.  The mentor will provide a valid email address, cell phone and office phone number.  All youth for this program must be referred by clergy, law enforcement,youth agencies or a school affiliate.  Youth will attend acting classes (6 week course) learning basic acting techniques and how to participate in auditions.


The mentor will provide the following services:

 

  • One-on-one counseling
  • Juvenile Prevention Program
  • Career and goal alignment
  • Job placement (if desired)
  • Post-educational counseling
  • Tutoring resources
  • Self-esteem building
  • Able to participate in Performing Arts Programs (acting classes, theatrical performances and other performing arts events)
  • Ability to audition for community stage plays and events.
  • Life-Skills Training
  • Onsite Classes Available
  • Recitals
  • Group Classes

CYD (Community Youth Development has contracted HMPA Inc. to provide this program  "FREE TO AT-RISK YOUTH" residing in  76106/76164.  We currently work with Community Youth Development Program serving at-risk youth.  Click Here to learn more about "Acting For A Greater Cause" funded by Department of Family Protective Services.

Youth Golden Mentoring Program

 

Our mentoring services for grades 5th-12th.  Referrals are not required for this program.  There is a one time $50 administration fee to become a member of this program.  Youth will receive a dedicated assigned mentor to talk with.  The mentor will provide a valid email address, cell phone and office phone number.  Youths can be referred by parents for this program.  This is a 12 month program and requires updating annually.  This is a 3-6 month mentoring & 6 month follow-up, including notifications of all upcoming events.  Youth will have the advantage to participate in all of our Arts programs per their entry assessment. Youth will attend acting classes (3-6 month course) learning basic acting techniques and how to participate in auditions.

Adult Mentoring Program

 

Our mentoring services for adults ages 18 & over.  Referrals are not required for this program.  There is a one-time $50 administration fee for this program.  Members will receive a dedicated mentor.  The mentor will provide a valid email address, cell phone and office phone number to member for direct contact.  (3-6 month mentoring in basic acting ) 6 month post follow-up.  This does require an audition to participate and it does involve upcoming productions.  The mentee actually participates in the productions.  Fees can be waived based on financial needs.

 

The mentor will provide the following services:

 

  • One-on-one counseling
  • Career and goal alignment
  • Job Placement
  • GED Services
  • Post-Educational counseling
  • Assistance with government assistance programs (if qualified)
  • Able to participate in Performing Arts Programs (acting classes, theatrical performances and other arts events)

 We do conduct criminal background checks and do not accept persons with any sexual offenses.
